Week Two Review...4/7 - 4/13

The second week of the season was very unfriendly to our New York Yankees...They lost both series 2-1 to the Boston Red Sox and the Kansas City Royals...If it wasn't for their win on Monday against the Rays, the Bronx Bombers would have been 2-4 for the week, but still one game under .500 at 3-4 is a weak they would like to forget...The Yankee bats are still sleeping and can the real Robinson Cano, please stand up!!! This guy was my pick to win a batting title and he looks lost out there...The highlight of Week Two was Chien-Ming Wang's near no-no in Boston!!! A complete game, two hit performance uping his season's record to 3-0...He is proving to put last October way behind him!!!

The theme of Week Two in Yankee-Land was the injury bug...Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada were both sidelined with injuries for most of the week, but two others stepped up and played great for the Bombers in Jose Molina and Alberto Gonzalez...Gonzalez is a young defensive shortstop, who came over in the Randy Johnson deal, that wasn;t considered a threat with the stick...He proved that to be wrong!!! I'll get to Molina in a bit...

Mike Mussina had himself one fantastic start and one so-so start in Boston, but he gave the Yankees a chance to win both games...You can't ask for much more than that!!! Mussina, Wang and Andy Pettitte picked up the Yanks three wins this week...The three wins gave the Yankees a record of 6-7 for the young season!!!

My Yankee of the Week for Week Two is Jose Molina...His stats are as followed...(.375 batting average, 24 at-bats, 9 hits, 6 doubles, 2 runs batted in, and 3 runs scored)...It's a shame that Molina's week had to end with a hamstring injury...My Week Two Runner-Up is Bobby Abreu, who also had a solid week, by driving in 4 runs and hitting 1 homerun!!!

The Joba Chamberlain watch....Season Totals (5.1 Innings Pitched, 3 Hits Allowed, 6 Strikeout, 0 Earned Runs, 1-0 Record and 3 Holds)
